Billfish Bash Tournament
A wonderful weekend of Game Fishing off Mooloolaba
Billfish Bash is an enthralling game fishing tournament hosted by Mooloolaba Game Fishing Club. With light and heavy tackle options, this tournament has been designed to test your skill, tactics and determination to bring in the big fish.
In mid-April the beautiful warm waters off Queensland’s Sunshine Coast are filled with hungry Blue Marlin, Black Marlin and Sailfish. The perfect time to head out for a fun weekend’s fishing.
The Billfish Bash is one of 3 sanctioned tournament hosted by the club and as such all anglers must be members of a club associated with the QGFA to compete. If you are new to fishing or new to the area, then this tournament is perfect for you. Using our standard Waypoints as a guide, head out to some of the productive fishing spots off the Coast and see if you can’t land a big one. Our members are always happy to help if you get stuck and there are plenty of boats offering advise on Tournament days.
As always, juniors and women anglers are encouraged to participate and we love seeing little boats getting in on the action.
The Billfish Bash begins with a Skipper’s Briefing and a Meet’n’Greet on Friday evening. We turn up the heat as we auction off each tournament boat in a light hearted Calcutta. The Saturday and Sunday are reserved for fish before coming home and freshening up for the awards night and presentation dinner on Sunday.
This 3 day tournament is packed with fun and is the perfect arena to showcase Game Fishing on the Sunshine Coast.
